Get Ready for the Roberts Elementary Annual International Festival on Oct 27th 3:30-6:30 pm!

This year we will be making an International Festival Photobook.
If you do not want your child’s photograph to be included in the photobook, please email us before Friday, October 20th. Include your child’s name, grade, and teacher’s name. Please inform your child(ren) of your preference.

Safety:
The International Festival will be overseen by staff and faculty, and we have requested HISD security, but our doors will be open to the entire community. We encourage you to stay vigilant of your child/children’s location on the school grounds.

Classroom Presentations:
As part of the International Festival, parents are welcome to join their child’s class and share information about their country of origin including indigenous foods/treats, music, games, or storytelling. This year’s presentations will be during the week of October 16th-20. Presentation forms can be found on the Roberts PTO website.

The International Festival brings together food, culture, art, and performances from all around the world. All countries are welcome. With over 35 tents displayed around the schoolyard, family and friends can walk the grounds tasting delectable tidbits from across the globe. Learn about the holidays, customs, and languages spoken in our very special Roberts community.

This year Roberts will be hosting its very own “World’s Fair”

Learn about the greatest discoveries and inventions from all over the world.

Performances take place on the outdoor stage.

Watch traditional dances, hear amazing musical performances by some of our schools most talented rising stars, and this year see the premier of the Roberts International Fashion Show. Traditional and contemporary costumes and attire presented by our students, parents, and staff.

The day starts with our annual International Festival parade.

Students will create their own individual patriotic costumes and march together waving their country’s flags. Parents are encouraged to attend.

Country representatives wanted: Would you like to share something awesome about your country but are afraid to take it on yourself? We can help you find a partner. Join us at an IF meeting right after the PTO meeting or email us directly.

If you represented your country last year or would like to sign up this year, the form can be found in this week’s Tuesday folder. Please return it with your child’s folder or bring it with you to the IF meeting.

IF Photographer needed: We’re looking for someone with a talent for taking photographs to cover this year’s festival. You do not need to be a professional.

IF Photo book: This year’s festival will be published! We’re looking for help putting together photos from the festival. Please email the IF chairs if interested in volunteering.
